In the business world, Maria’s books turned the spotlight on consumer spending to the $2.1 trillion mom market and the emergence of Mom 3.0. Maria examines how today's mothers are bridging new media and technology to create marketing channels for companies to leverage. Her second book, “Marketing to Moms: Getting Your Share of the Trillion Dollar Market” (Prima) was the first to quantify the spending power of mothers. Today industry leaders as well the US government use her calculations. In “Trillion Dollar Moms: Marketing to a New Generation of Mothers” (Dearborn) she focused on the emergence of three distinct generations of moms and how companies can connect with each.
